Coal Gasification
Burning coal to produce power is inefficient and creates dangerous emissions. Coal can be converted to synthetic natural gas (SNG) in modern application of gasification systems. The Coal-SNG project demonstrates at an engineering-scale, a coal hydrogasification-based process for producing substitute natural gas (SNG) from coal. Results were utilized to develop a process design for commercial-scale co-production of Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) and electricity with near-zero emissions.
